It has been identified that the definition of power in an organization is a bit different from the definition of power in other fields. It can be assumed that the main source of power in an organization is the position. A person working in higher position will always have greater power in comparison to others working in the lower ranks. It is also possible that a person joins an organization with limited power and later that same persons acquired some more power through promotion. This is also an example of positional power. It indicates that the individuals in the higher positions will have more power and as the people working under them will have least power.
